Are you a results driven Bakery / Deli / Prepared Foods professional with a passion for food and retail?  Growing company located in the beautiful northwest.  This position will be responsible for bakery, deli and prepared foods merchandising, operations and procurement.   

 

We’re looking for a Sr. Manager / Director of Bakery Deli and prepared Foods Merchandising who can develop creative and innovative merchandising strategies for a conventional grocery chain.  Ideal candidates must possess creative insight into creating fresh departments that offer signature items and a reason to shop the store.  Must be a food oriented business leader with high energy, and the ability to drive change.  This role will communicate the vision and inspire a team.  As a leader, this individual must be capable of interfacing with all levels of management and understand the necessity of being a team player, yet be comfortable in an environment requiring a high degree of individual performance.  Some qualifications include:

 

8-10 years retail merchandising / category management / buying experience, with 3 plus years in bakery deli and prepared foods.   

 

Overall responsibility for Merchandising, Operations and Buying function for Bakery Deli and Prepared Foods departments in a retail grocery environment. 

Responsible for creating weekly and seasonal merchandising / promotional plan, buying, negotiation strategies, pricing and promotions to increase store sales and profitability.

Experience Identifying, developing, communicating and executing short and long term business plans.  Including market trends, sales forecasts, margin requirements to maximize profitable category sales, promotional initiatives, inventory turn goals and vendor relationship management. 

Working closely with wholesaler, suppliers, and DSD vendors regarding quantity, product selection and placement.

Provide clear direction, support and coaching to retail operations, buying and field merchandising staff.
